Squeezing out some quilting time

Living on a farm has taught me that the farm does not know the difference between days. It does not know holidays, birthdays or anniversaries. It also doesn't know that it has been way too long since I have been able to sew. There are the good things though; seeing new baby calves born , some beautiful sunsets/sun rises I have ever seen, wild blackberries. All in all my life is good & I have no complaints & I am truly thankful for all of my blessings. Now I'm going to try & get a few minutes to sew/quilt. Hope y'all are having a great day. (The last pic is from this past winter.  It is one if my favorites. Plus it reminds me of colder weather, which I'm looking forward to!)
To my friends who I missed quilting with tonight I am sorry and I'll bring a blackberry pie next time!

My first Accuquilt quilt

I've been sewing my afternoon away & I have loved every minute of it. I'm working on "Scrappy Trips" it's a Bonnie Hunter pattern. It has been a great quilt to learn how to use my Accuquilt go cutter. I've made progress today, 11 blocks! Now I have 30 blocks done just 24 more to go! Hope y'all are having a great day!

Oh what to do?

I have been gifted fabric & I am so very thankful for it. I've been washing, drying & cutting it up. So what to do? Use my new Accuquilt Go Cutter & make a a fast scrappy quilt. I'm making a Bonnie Hunter quilt  ( shocker I know, I'm a huge fan !) called "Scrappy Trips". Friday was a cutting day, made 5 blocks yesterday & 5 blocks today. It is going fairly fast. Hope y'all are having a great day!

Oops I did it again

I had just started to cut up fabric & I was talking with my son. I turned to look at him & some how I cut 2 of my fingers on the tops. Just sliced right across the tops of them. I had my husband take a look & we both decided that it wasn't deep enough for stitches. I did this once before but I cut the side of my index finger. That took 8 stitches (3 or4 went through the nail bed). No distractive rotary cutting for me. Hope y'all are having a good day & if you're going to cut fabric be careful!

The generosity of quilters

I am constantly amazed at the generosity of quilters. I have been blessed by 3 in the last month. Joelyn F. Thank you so much for giving me an Accuquilt Go Cutter. I've just started to play/use it & I am loving it! I have also started browsing for more dies.
This past Tuesday I went to the Blue Valley quilters guild in Olathe KS & spoke about my scrappy quilts. I had so much fun thank you ladies! While we were setting up I was gifted a huge bag of scraps. I am so sorry generous quilter I have forgotten your name but I thank you for your wonderful gift of scraps! I will use them!
Then today in my mail  I received this box full of scraps from Barbara B. Wow, what a surprise. Thank you Barbara. What a wonderful box full of scrappy happiness.

Thank you ! I'm off to play with some fabric. Have a great day!

First fruits from the garden

We were able to pick 3 zucchini's & some peas! I'm so excited. It is so much fun growing yummy veggies from seeds! I fried 2 of the zucchini's for supper last night. So good! There are lots of tomatoes coming!

Almost done!

We're almost done with hay! I've been in the hay field all afternoon baling hay. It was a pretty good afternoon. There were no breakdowns & I didn't get "Chogged" up. I did have to road my tractor & baler down the road this evening. That can always be a tricky endeavor. Cars & trucks can get stuck behind you & some  of them do get impatient. One truck this evening did get very impatient & passed me while going up a hill on a curve. He barley missed a car coming the other way. I am so very thankful that there was no accident. Please if you do come up behind farm equipment on the road please be careful. The farmer is doing the best he can. I will leave you with a beautiful picture of our wheat field. It will be combined soon.

P.S. with hay work almost done I'm looking forward to quilting!
